For us, there was more to our summer than just beaches, BBQs and parades. It was a time to be together with other youth and spend our Saturdays with the kids of the School of Peace and the elderly of Hopkins Nursing Home.
From trips to the zoo and the museum to birthday parties in East River Park and picnics at Central Park, the moments we spent together this summer remind us that we are truly happy when we dream together.
High school and college youth came together this summer from all 5 boroughs of New York City (even Staten Island) and a group of youth from Kingsport, Tennessee joined us for a School of Peace trip to the Queens Zoo.
This summer and the fun times and many laughs we had showed us that living together in the service of others is the path to happiness.
